Description

Movement Re-Patterning for Rehabilitation

This two-day CPD course is designed for healthcare professionals working in rehabilitation, including those supporting patients with neurological conditions, post-injury recovery, or movement dysfunction due to surgery or inactivity. It introduces a practical and functional approach to restoring efficient movement patterns through targeted movement re-education.

The course focuses on retraining the neuromuscular and proprioceptive systems to improve how individuals move, enhancing both motor control and movement efficiency. Participants will learn to assess movement using the DMS Functional Movement Analysis, identifying compensatory, inefficient, or uncontrolled patterns. This leads to a structured system of interventions to correct movement at its source, addressing issues in coordination, muscle activation, and speed control.

You’ll be introduced to a progression of movement techniques, starting with simple exercises and advancing to more dynamic patterns. The course includes in-depth practical sessions where participants will experience each method firsthand, ensuring you leave with the confidence to apply what you’ve learned in your clinic or practice.

Whether you work with patients recovering from neurological events, orthopaedic surgeries, or those facing age-related movement decline, this course equips you with tools to support functional, long-term recovery and improved performance.

What You’ll Gain from the Course:

  • A solid understanding of the Movement Re-Patterning methodology

  • Skills to identify and correct dysfunctional movement patterns

  • Practical knowledge of neuromuscular stimulation and proprioceptive training

  • Techniques for re-educating walking, backwards walking, and functional movements

  • Insight into how the brain influences movement and recovery

  • Strategies for working with diverse populations, including stroke survivors, children with movement dysfunction, older adults, and neurodivergent individuals

All participants will receive a Certificate of Attendance upon successful completion of the course.
