Who Taught You How to Run? The Book That Will Transform Your Running Technique

Have You Ever Been Taught How to Run?

Running is one of the most natural human movements. We do it as kids without thinking. But somewhere along the way, bad habits, poor mechanics, and inefficient movement patterns creep in—leading to injuries, slower speeds, and wasted energy.

In Who Taught You How to Run?, renowned movement specialist Mike Antoniades, founder of The Running School, reveals why most people have never actually been taught how to run efficiently—and how re-educating your technique can lead to dramatic improvements in speed, endurance, and injury prevention.

Why You Need This Book

Whether you’re a runner, coach, physiotherapist, or personal trainer, this book offers scientifically backed strategies to analyze and correct running form.

📖 Key Takeaways from the Book:
The Science of Running Technique – Why most runners move inefficiently and how to fix it.
Injury Prevention & Recovery – The common movement patterns that lead to injuries and how to overcome them.
Speed & Performance Training – Proven drills and methods to make you faster and more efficient.
Real-World Case Studies – Transformations of everyday runners and elite athletes using The Running School Method.

Who Is This Book For?

  • Runners who want to improve speed, efficiency, and endurance.
  • Physiotherapists and sports therapists working with injured runners.
  • Coaches looking to optimize training and technique for their athletes.
  • Anyone suffering from recurrent running injuries and looking for a lasting solution.

“Loved it and read it all in one sitting!

Mike’s book is straight to the point and does what it says on the cover – he breaks down the fundamentals of running and the rationales behind them to make you run at your optimum safely.

I knew a lot was wrong with my running, but I didn’t understand what those “wrongs” actually were. For example, I’ve discovered I’m a “twister” when I run, crossing my arms over my midline with each arm stride making my torso rotate. That’s exactly what’s been causing my shoulder blade and lower back pain! This habit has also thrown off my elbow movement- my elbows have been flaring out sideways instead of driving backwards, limiting my propulsion forward and speed. On top of that I’ve been moving my arms from my shoulders rather than elbows creating an obtuse angle leading to more shoulder pain and wasted energy.
Before reading this earlier today I had zero understanding of movement dynamics or how they impact the body. But the information is so easily digestible and leaves you realising that the problems are very simple (although challenging to fix).

I’ve tried some exercises from Session 1 already and it’s felt as if I’m re-learning how to walk- but that just proves how much I needed this book in the first place, and how much potential there is to become better.

Can’t wait to go through each session and see how well the programme works for me. I have high hopes :)”
